Anonymous asked: Could you tell me about VT's Industrial Design program? I don't need a list of statistics, but just as a student on campus, what's your general feel towards/ connotation of that department? Do you know anything about it being good/bad, fun/boring? And what are the people in it generally like? Thanks so much for anything you can tell me :)

I’m actually a graphic design major, which is in the School of Visual Arts. But I do have friends in architecture and ID, and I also am getting a minor in ID, so maybe I can give you some info haha. Cowgill and Burchard are really great studio spaces, for one thing. You get your own desk and the place is always full of students working crazy hours. It’s fun. It’s also a lot of work and some people s don’t get any sleep. I don’t think you could call it boring. The program has a good mix of people. Of course there are some hipster kids who listen to good music, dress well, are pretty fun. And there are some dumb people, but I’m sure every program has that. Some bros. Some normals. Some really artsy people and some really engineery people. It’s a fine mix. I dunno man. Come check it out.
